Identify your engine type - Engine code location guide

1.8/1.9 Ltr 4cylinder ADF/ADG Engine code location

The engine number ("engine code and serial number") is stamped on the cylinder block between the injection pump and the vacuum pump (see arrow in picture).

The engine number is always shown on the engine data plate/sticker on the tooth belt cover. The engine number consists of up to 9 digits, the first 3 represents the engine code (ie ADG123456), the remaining numeric digits represent the serial number.

The engine number ("Code letters and Serial number") can be found on the joint between engine and flywheel housing, please see arrow on picture.

Additionally there is always a sticker on the toothed belt guard with engine code and serial number. The engine number consists of up to 9 digits, the first 3 are the engine code (ie AVM123456) and the remaining 6 digits are the serial number.

The engine number ("engine code and serial number") can be found in the arrow position, stamped on the block behind the oil filter housing.

In addition, an adhesive label can be found on the toothed belt guard indicating the engine code. The engine number consists of up to 9 digits, the first 3 digits (ie CPY123456) represents the engine code, the remaining 6 digits are the serial number for the engine.

The engine number ("engine code and serial number") is located next to the vibration damper on the cylinder block, below the coolant pump. (please see arrow in picture)

Additionally, a sticker with the engine code and serial is attached to the intake manifold.

Engine code is the first 3 digits (ie BMF123456) and the last 6 digits are the unique serial number for the engine.

3.6 Litre 6cylinder LPG engine code location

3.6 Litre 6cylinder LPG engine code location

The engine number is located next to the vibration damper on the cylinder block. (Please see arrow in picture) There is also a sticker on the intake manifold.

Engine code is the first 4 digits of the engine number (ie CKPA123456) and the remaining 6 digits is the unique serial number for the engine.
